A dedicated step-up transformer for monaural cartridges...
Introducing the Miyajima ETR-MONO
—
The ETR-MONO is Miyajima’s dedicated monaural step-up transformer, created specifically to suit the unusual requirements of mono cartridges. Miyajima explain that the low impedance and relatively high output of monaural cartridges made matching difficult with ordinary preamp input impedance, and that this design solves the issue by changing the effective input impedance seen by the preamp.
As with the company’s other transformers, paraffin is used as the caulking material and highest-grade permalloy 80 is used for the transformer core.
—
The ETR-MONO changes a stereo sound source to a monaural sound source. If used in a monaural system, Miyajima advise using only one channel.
