The first evolution of the Boenicke Audio W8 Standard Version incorporates additional engineering elements exclusive to the Swiss brand and intended to further refine the philosophy of its creator, Sven Boenicke, when he speaks of the connection between his products and his deep passion for music: “I have probably spent more time in concert halls recording music than most speaker manufacturers. Wherever I go, the sound of real instruments is with me. In my memory, in my body, and I promise you can hear it in our products.”
The W8 SE Version is, like the base model, a sophisticated three-speaker, three-way speaker that, starting from Boenicke Audio’s characteristic natural-looking enclosure with computer-optimized internal labyrinth, incorporates unique solutions that make it a different product. Thus, the woofer used has been designed to make large displacements and, despite its modest 165 mm diameter, is tuned to 28 Hz and is not filtered, an unequivocal symbol of its extreme quality. The midrange driver, fitted with a 102mm diameter paper cone, has also been custom-made to Boenicke Audio’s exacting specifications, while incorporating one of the brand’s exclusive parallel electromechanical resonators. It also includes a first-order low-pass filter, but not a high-pass filter, and exclusive elements to optimise its key parameters. Also noteworthy in the W8 SE Version is the use of a 75mm diameter wide-pass tweeter, as well as the presence of Bybee’s highly imaginative “Quantum Purifiers” and a circuit specifically designed to linearise the phase response curve.

“Perhaps I have spent more time in concert halls recording live music than most other loudspeaker manufacturers.
Wherever I go, the tone of real instruments is with me.
In my memory, in my body – and I promise you can hear it in our products." - SVEN BOENICKE
Boenicke Audio was founded in 1998. Against the overwhelming number of brands in today's hifi market (some say 20,000 worldwide!), we've closely scrutinised each of our products by asking ourselves, "does anyone really need this?" So we have grown Boenicke Audio slowly and organically. We don't focus on number of sales but product quality and relevance.
